Supporters of TNR

This is by no means a complete list, but did you know that these non-profits and businesses below promote TNR? Did you know that collectively they have spent millions of dollars supporting this misguided practice?

  •  Best Friends Animal Society (in Utah)
  •  The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
  •  The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)
  •  PetSmart Charities
  •  The Petco Foundation
  •  Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation
  •  Newell Rubbermaid
  •  Costco
  •  Freshpet
  •  Havahart
  •  Tomahawk Live Trap
  •  Trucatch

And yet TNR has made no dent in the population of feral cats. Not that population reduction has ever been a genuine goal of TNR. But now, clearly the focus is to end euthanasia, even if that means pulling cats out of shelters and releasing them outdoors (Return-to-field).

As you consider which organizations deserve your hard-earned dollars, ask yourself if you wish to contribute to charities (or to patronize businesses) that have no respect for the health of ecosystems, dismiss the risks to public health, disregard the property rights of landowners, and condone a practice that re-abandons domestic animals.

Bottom line - research before you donate or spend. Otherwise, you too could be a TNR supporter.
